Cotton wool daubers are small wads of cotton bundled together with a thin twisted piece of wire which also serves as the handle. Wool daubers are used to apply liquid products such as dye and edge dressing. Some varieties of those products include a wool dauber attached to the cap of the bottle in which they come to allow easy application. Wool daubers can be rinsed out with water and reused, but they tend to be inexpensive, so it is not necessary.
